A person has been taken to hospital after becoming injured at the coast.
Emergency services, including a Great North Air Ambulance helicopter, descended on Cullercoats Bay on Saturday afternoon.
Police cars, ambulances and the helicopter attended the stretch of North Tyneside coast just before 3pm.
The North East Ambulance Service said an injured person was taken to Newcastle's Royal Victoria Infirmary for treatment.
No further details have been given about their condition or the nature of their injuries.

A North East Ambulance Service spokesperson said: "We were called to reports of a person injured on Cullercoats beach at 2:48pm.
"We dispatched one ambulance crew, a crew from our Hazardous Area Response Team and a clinical manager, and requested support from Great North Air Ambulance Service.
"The patient was transported to the RVI by road for further treatment."
Northumbria Police said they were assisting the North East Ambulance Service with their work, but could not provide any further detail.
