A casualty was rushed to hospital after a crash involving a motorbike in Sale on Wednesday evening (July 27). A large emergency services response rushed to the scene of the smash, on Dane Road.
An air ambulance also landed in nearby Crossford Bridge Playing Fields as a precaution, but it is thought the casualty was treated at the scene before then being taken away to hospital by road. Officers erected a large cordon, blocking off the quiet residential street between Dalton Street and Danefield Road.
The M.E.N also understands a car was involved in the collision. The condition of the motorcyclist has not yet been confirmed but Greater Manchester Police have been approached for more information.
Traffic officers attended the scene and inspected the motorbike, which lay on its side in the centre of the road where the crash happened. Residents living within the cordon were allowed through to access their homes, but those with cars were diverted away temporarily.
One Dane Road resident, who lived outside of the cordon, didn't see the incident but came out of her door when she saw the emergency lights. "You just don't think something like this will happen on your doorstep," she told the Manchester Evening News.
"I hope the motorcyclist pulls through. It makes you realise how quick things can turn so badly on the roads."
Another homeowner added: "I wasn't here when it happened but I just came home to see my street was all taped off. I saw the motorbike in the road and it's just awful - I just hope everyone is okay."
Numerous officers were conducting enquiries at the scene and around the motorbike, which was surrounded by various debris.
A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Police confirmed on Thursday that no serious injuries were reported in the incident.
