Casualty fans stunned as they rumble where they've seen Susie actress before

Casualty fans were left puzzled as Susie debuted on the BBC drama on Saturday night, unsure where they’d seen the actress who played her before.

The pregnant patient was brought into the hospital after almost being run over, having to dive out the way of a car and falling on her foot.

Worried about her baby, Susie was reassured by paramedic Ruby and nurse Duffy that all was okay.

But viewers immediately recognised the actress playing Susie, who has actually been in the drama before as another patient back in 2016.

It was her role in Hollyoaks though that most fans recognised her from, with them glad to see her back on screen.

The actress playing Susie is Sophie Austin, who is also the fiancée of Coronation Street actor Shayne Ward, with the couple sharing a daughter named Willow.

Sophie played The Gloved Hand Killer Lindsey Butterfield in Channel 4 soap Hollyoaks for three years between 2013 and 2016.

Another tweeted: “When Lindsey Butterfield Roscoe shows up on #Casualty you better hide the gloves.”

A third commented: “Hope @SophieAustin1 character goes nowhere near blue gloves.”

As well as another appearance in Casualty, Sophie also appeared in BBC drama Call The Midwife last year.

Casualty continues next Saturday at 8.25pm on BBC One.
