Casualty cut free from vehicle following road collision in Aspley

Nottinghamshire fire services were on hand to cut a casualty loose from a vehicle following a road traffic collision.

Crews were called at around 5.35pm on Friday, October 8, after reports of a crash between a car and a van.

Two engines from Stockhill Fire Station were present following the incident in Nuthall Road, Aspley.

A casualty was extricated using cutting gear and then transported to hospital via ambulance.

A spokesperson for Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service said: "We received a call at 17:34 to reports of a road traffic collision between a van and a car on Nuthall Road Aspley.

"Two fire engines from Stockhill were in attendance.

"They extricated one casualty who was then transported to hospital by ambulance."

The road was also closed at the Bar Lane junction due to the incident and a number of NCT buses experienced delays.

The extent of the casualties' injuries are not yet known.
