Casualty 'assisted' by firefighters after Grangemouth flat fire

A person had to be given oxygen by firefighters after flames broke out in within a flat in Grangemouth.

Mercy teams were called to the block on Kersiebank Avenue, across from Grangemouth Sports Stadium shortly after 5:30pm on Tuesday February 1.

Two fire engines were sent to the scene with locals spotted standing outside while crews dealt with the incident on the fourth floor.

No serious injuries were reported as a result of the fire .

A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: "We were alerted at 5.34pm on Tuesday, February 1 to reports of a dwelling fire at Kersiebank Avenue, Grangemouth.

"Operations Control mobilised two fire appliances and firefighters extinguished a fire affecting a fourth floor flat.

"Firefighters assisted one casualty at the scene and crews left after ensuring the area was made safe."
