Casualty actress apologises to co star's wife for steamy sex scene as soap is forced off air

Casualty fans were devastated as the soap has been taken off the air, with its final episode airing on Saturday night.

The medical drama is being forced off air due to the coronavirus pandemic and will not be back on our screens for at least several months.

And viewers have been left on several cliffhangers including what Fenisha Khatri (Olivia D'Lima) is gong to do about her secret pregnancy.

But they were treated to a gloriously steamy office sex scene which saw Connie Beauchamp and Jacob Masters reunite after years apart.

The raunchy sex scene was a huge hit with viewers (BBC)

In fact, the sex scene was so raunchy that Connie actress Amanda Mealing ended up apologising to Jacob actor Chucky Venn's wife.

After the show aired, she tweeted: "Soooo.... you liked? This was a tough scene for @ChuckyVenn and me (sorry Mrs Venn!) but we had to end the series with a bang!"

One fan replied: "It was EVERYTHING and more! Wow! Still speechless! That scene was worth the 4 year wait! You were both incredible in tonight’s episode! You work so well together! roll on next series!! X".

Connie and Jacob have been apart for four years but fans were keen for them to rekindle the flame (BBC)

"I loved it I'm still speechless over that scene it was hot hot & hot I'm ready for more Jacob & Connie scenes #Jonnie #Casualty," gushed another.

"I will be talking about this scene until the end of time! WOW it was worth the wait!" added a third, alongside a still from the scene.

A fourth remarked: "So about last night indeed! Look at the ED power couple This scene will go down in #Casualty history!".

Noel is struggling to deal with stress at work (BBC)

When the soap returns, fans will be desperate to find out whether Fenisha has decided to terminate her pregnancy with Ethan Hardy's baby, which he believes she has already done.

The soap will also reveal whether or not Connie and Jacob will decide to get back together, and if this will put a spanner in the works when it comes to working together?

Meanwhile, receptionist Noel Garcia is left struggling after he felt responsible for an error which caused a patient's death.

There is set to be an inquest, and how will Noel cope with the stress, and the potential consequences?
