Castlepark Primary appeal for help to win £10k of gardening equipment

Castlepark Primary School need your help to secure a second win in a national recycling competition.

The school won a Terracycle competition to bag an eco-playground last year.

Now the kids are going after another top prize – £10,000 worth of gardening equipment.

The competition is being run by the beauty giant Garnier and Terracycle.

Instead of winning the top prize with votes online, the school who collects the most beauty products for recycling will be crowned winner.

Mrs Wylie of Castlepark Primary said: “Basically we are looking for lids of shampoo bottles, hair conditioner, plastic moisturising pots, hair gel and face wash tubes, and pump or spray from beauty items.

“Based on the success of our last competition in which we won a playground made of recycled plastic, we have decided to enter another competition which reinforces our eco message about saving the planet and recycling.

“We are hoping our local community will once again support us but this time it’s not votes we need – it’s plastic.

“The plastic is weighed by Terracycle and then points are awarded.

“We are currently number seven on the leaderboard.

“Our pupils are very environmentally aware and our parent council are again working tirelessly to spread the word about our competition and to encourage people to recycle their products with us.”

The last shipment date to send away plastic is Friday, June 21.

Please consider supporting the school and pop down to the school with your beauty product bottles.
