Castlemilk murder bid: 34-year-old charged with attempted murder after car driven at group of men

A 34-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with an attempted murder incident in Castlemilk.

Police were called to reports of a disturbance on Blaeloch Drive yesterday (Sunday, July 19) around 3pm.

The incident involved a car being driven at a group of young men. A 35-year-old man appears to have been injured but declined medical treatment at the scene.

Detective Sergeant Keith Runcie, based at Cathcart CID, said: “Reckless acts of violence won't be tolerated in our communities and the quick actions of our officers, which involved uniformed officers as well as detectives and the dog unit, has resulted in a man being arrested and charged in connection with this incident."

The 34-year-old man will appear at Glasgow Sheriff Court tomorrow (Tuesday, July 21).
