Castlemilk home raided by police after reports of person seen carrying gun

Police raided a property in Castlemilk early this morning after reports that a person was carrying a gun.

Windows were also smashed at the property in Blaeloch Avenue in Castlemilk.

No firearms were discharged at the scene and no one was injured, however police say enquiries are still ongoing into the incident and to trace the person responsible.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 4.30am on Friday, 19 March, officers were called to a report regarding a number of windows of a property smashed in Blaeloch Avenue, Castlemilk.

"They also received information that the person responsible was in possession of what appeared to be a firearm.

"No one was injured and no firearm was discharged.

"Officers attended and carried out a full search of the area.

"Enquiries are ongoing in the area today to establish the exact circumstances and trace the person responsible.

"Officers following a number of lines of enquiry in relation to this incident.”
