Castle Park stabbing: Man rushed to hospital and road closed

A man was stabbed in Castle Park earlier this afternoon (January 31), police have said. A cordon remains in place as officers investigate the incident.

Avon and Somerset Police received a report of the stabbing at 4.26pm. The victim was then rushed to Bristol Royal Infirmary for treatment.

Investigating officers are now keen to hear from anyone who saw the stabbing. They are urging witnesses to call 101, referencing log 647 of January 31.

At the time of writing (6.10pm), Fairfax Street remains closed with a police cordon in place. Pictures from the scene show the closure between Nelson Street and the Pithay.
