Castle Heraldry Shoppe closing at Disneyland

The shop where visitors could look up their family crest or purchase a coat of arms at Disneyland is closing.

Disneyland officials confirmed that the Castle Heraldry Shoppe will close Jan. 12.

The shop first opened inside a space within the castle in 1994. It moved to its present location in 2008, when the park re-opened the Sleeping Beauty Castle Walkthrough.

Inside the shop, visitors could look up their family name's history, and see if it had a family crest associated with it. They were also able to order merchandise with the crest printed on it.

Additional items included things such as specialty swords and collectible coats of arms.

There were also various items from Europe's Medieval Era on display such as a knight's armor.

Disneyland officials have not announced what will be going into the shop's space in Fantasyland next to Peter Pan's Flight.
