Castle draws flak away from Paul McMullan

Former News of the World deputy features editor Paul McMullan has garnered little public support for the hack's cause while trying to defend the trade in heated TV exchanges with the likes of Hugh Grant and Steve Coogan. In his new stomping ground of Kent, he's not having much luck either, reports the Indy. McMullan has reinvented himself as a pub landlord, looking after the Castle Inn in Dover – but a namesake nearby is becoming increasingly exasperated with the inadvertent attention. "McMullan is causing a stir, says the Dover Castle Inn's Facebook page. "We've had numerous phone calls form the media trying to speak to him – the last one at 11.30pm yesterday. And now this morning I have had an email calling him all the names under the sun. So once more, if anyone is looking at this, Paul McMullan runs the CASTLE INN at DOVER. We are the DOVER CASTLE INN at TEYNHAM ..."
