Women across the region will be showcasing their skills at an event in Castle Douglas this weekend.
The Stewartry Scottish Women’s Institute Federation Show, held every two years, takes place in the town hall.
Kicking off on Friday, May 17, at 4.30pm, the event is a highlight of the SWI calendar.
It is expected to attract an excellent entry of crafts including floral art, baking, needlework and artwork produced by member’s of the area’s women’s institutes.
As well as work being on display, the show will also give members of the public the chance to get creative themselves.
On Saturday, May 18, the show opens at 10am and visitors will be able to have a go at a variety of handcrafts such as papercraft and knitting.
There will be something on offer for the whole family to enjoy including sales tables, a raffle and delicious home baking.

Judges will also have the hard task of deciding who to award top prizes to for their skills and a presentation of trophies will take place on Saturday at 2.30pm.
The Scottish Women’s Institute was created in 1917, with the aim of bringing women together to educate, share, campaign, socialise and to have fun as well as learning to make the perfect scone.
The Stewartry Federation was founded around 1922. Current chairwoman Kate Smith, said: “We look forward to welcoming people to our show. The entry fee is just £1 and while there, visitors will be able to enjoy watching demonstrations as well as trying out some of the crafts themselves.
