The Castle Douglas heat of the South West Region Rotary Quiz was a very close contest between seven local primary schools.
In total eight rounds were held to test the children including literacy, numbers, About Scotland and a tricky observation round.
When all the scores were tallied less than three points separated the top three teams.
And it was Castle Douglas who just edged in front of Lochrutton to win with Springholm a close third.
