Castle Douglas Primary pupils take part in Roman day to celebrate end of topic

As an end of topic celebration, P4 and P3/4 at Castle Douglas Primary took part in a Roman themed day.

The children came dressed in Roman inspired costumes and enjoyed a full day of activities.

In the morning they headed outside and took part in a Roman soldier training camp.

They tested their aim, determination and teamwork skills with some fun military manoeuvres.

After snack, they went to the hall to enjoy a disco before sitting down to feast at their Roman banquet.

They tried some traditional Roman delicacies such as delicious stuffed dormice - in chocolate form. Following lunch, they had a relaxing afternoon of Roman music and song, ending the day by designing mosaics.
