Castle Douglas Primary pupils enjoy day of Scottish activities ahead of Burns' Night

Youngsters at Castle Douglas Primary enjoyed a day of Scottish activities in the run-up to Burns’ Night.

Children’s author Susi Briggs from Gatehouse read from her book ‘Nip Nebs’.

Youngsters also got to try playing some Scottish music. (Jim McEwan)

There was also music, Scottish food, a treasure hunt using the computer lab and the Highland hustle, a Scottish version of Zumba.

Haggis, neeps and tatties were on the menu at lunchtime and in the afternoon piper Glen Cunningham appeared and Robert McTurk gave a performance of ‘Tam o’ Shanter’.
