Castle Douglas Men's Shed hold successful open day

Castle Douglas Men’s Shed held an open afternoon last Wednesday.

The group meets every Wednesday afternoon at 1-2 Carlingwark Street – a space at the former Brown’s Garage.

And last week they gave everyone a chance to see what the group, which provides space for men to get together and work on projects, is all about.

Co-ordinator James Robertson said: “It was successful. We had a few interested people.

“A few years ago we had six members now we have nearly 30. A few couldn’t come to the open day but last week we had 20 members.

“It’s going the right way.”

The group is supported by Castle Douglas Development Forum and meets every Wednesday from 1pm. Everyone is welcome to go along.
