Castle Douglas High School pupils taking part in Great British Spring Clean

Pupils from Castle Douglas High School are involved in the Great British Spring Clean.

The campaign from Keep Britain Tidy is the nation’s biggest mass participation environmental campaign, encouraging the public to make a real difference in their communities by either hosting or taking part in a litter pick.

(Galloway News)

The eco group at Castle Douglas High School wanted to make a difference, so they identified routes around their school community where they could get involved and pick litter.

More than 50 staff and pupils signed up support the event and it has been a huge success.

Readers may have seen some of the young people out and about.

Thanks go to the council’s Stewartry community assets team who donated the litter picking equipment.
