Castle Douglas curler wins silver at World Transplant Winter Games

A Castle Douglas curler helped Great Britain win a silver medal in the World Transplant Winter Games.

Fiona McCrae skipped the rink that took part in the competition at Banff and Lake Louise in Canada.

The team won all five of their round-robin games to qualify straight to the final, where they unfortunately lost to Canada.

Fiona, who is 47, has had three lung transplants, the most recent coming in March, 2016.

Meanwhile, New Abbey Curling Club’s Fraser Kingan was unable to add a second Scottish mixed doubles curling title to the one he won in 2017.

Fraser and playing partner Jayne Stirling qualified for the double knockout stage with four wins and no defeats but were unable to progress any further.
