Fans have been waiting patiently for further developments since Jason Blum confirmed the news of an official Dead By Daylight movie in 2024. More recently, another wave of excitement has spread across the community as people are resharing the official announcement.
Blumhouse is currently working with Atomic Monster, and according to Blum himself, the script is currently being perfected. Comparing the writing process to his work with Five Nights At Freddy’s, Blum says, “It took 10 years to make Five Nights At Freddy’s, and I think one of the reasons the movie worked is because we spent 10 years trying to get it right.”
So, while we wait for perfection to be achieved, we have been wondering which characters will appear in the official Dead By Daylight movie, and more importantly, who should be cast in the roles? Assuming only original Killers and Survivors make the cut, here’s who we would cast in a Blumhouse horror Dead By Daylight movie.
5 actors who would be perfect for the Dead By Daylight movie
Alexander Skarsgård as the Trapper

Alexander Skarsgård is our first choice to play Evan MacMillan, AKA The Trapper. As we have seen through his work in The Northman, he can bulk up with the best of them, but he brings much more to the role than just physicality. Skarsgård would effortlessly balance physical strength and intimidating presence with emotional depth, bringing to life the tortured soul of a man scarred by trauma. The actor has also proven with many of his previous roles that he has skill in horror-adjacent roles and could bring to life The Trapper as the tragic and terrifying character we want to see.
Gwendoline Christie as The Huntress

If the movie were to center on our favorite Russian hatchet-chucker, The Huntress, only one name comes to mind. Gwendoline Christie, best known for her role in Game Of Thrones, not only has the commanding stature that perfectly suits Anna, but can also express the balance of monstrous and human needed for such a tragic backstory. The Huntress is more than a bloodthirsty Killer; she is a woman driven by loss and isolation, and is a complex character we think Christie would be perfect for.
Sophia Lillis as Meg Thomas

Sophia Lillis would make an ideal Meg Thomas in a Dead by Daylight movie adaptation, as she possesses the natural balance of vulnerability and gritty resilience that Meg embodies. From her roles in Dungeons & Dragons and Netflix’s I Am Not Okay With This, Sophia has proven again and again that she can play tough, headstrong young women. It is easy to imagine Sophia bringing Meg’s rebellious streak to life, while also giving her that heart and humanity that every Survivor has.
Will Poulter as Dwight Fairfield

Will Poulter could bring Dead By Daylight OG Survivor, Dwight Fairfield, to life with a mix of awkwardness and quiet bravery. This could even be a role that introduces a bit of comedic relief to an otherwise dark and intense horror flick. Dwight is very much a fan-favorite, and Poulter’s ability to bring subtle humor and authentic relatability could give the audience someone to root for as they try to escape.
Amandla Stenberg as Claudette

Amandla Stenberg’s work in The Hate U Give and The Hunger Games offers a showcase of the warmth and vulnerability she can portray through her characters. She would bring Claudette’s empathy and strength to life with a quietly confident screen presence. Claudette’s personality could be seen as too subtle as she is supposed to be shy and thoughtful, but Amandla would easily bring nuance and realism to the role, making Claudette a memorable and sympathetic character.
