Cassius Winston’s brother Zachary dies after being hit by Amtrak train

Michigan State start Cassius Winston and his family have suffered a terrible tragedy.

According to multiple media reports, Cassius’ brother Zachary was hit and killed by an Amtrak train in Albion.

WWMT-TV in Kalamazoo first reported that a train hit a pedestrian crossing the tracks around 8:30 Saturday evening.

According to WWMT, the Albion Department of Public Safety identified the victim as a 19-year-old male student from Albion College.

Albion Public Safety Chief Scott Kipp told the Battle Creek Enquirer that their investigation revealed Winston intentionally stepped in front of the train.

Zachary, a graduate of U of D Jesuit, played basketball for Albion college. The sophomore was unable to suit up in Albion’s exhibition against MSU due to an injury.
