With the abrupt end to the athletic year due to the COVID-19 outbreak, we are now fully in the midst of awards season for the 2019-20 NCAA Men’s Basketball season. USA TODAY released their end of season awards this week and they had Michigan State point guard Cassius Winston on their Second-Team All-American Team.
This seems to be the consensus position for Cassius after an emotional, up-and-down season. Winston was also named to the Second-Team by the Sporting News and NBC Sports. It will always be a big ‘what if’ on what Cassius would’ve accomplished in tournament play since he was on a great pace to end the season.
Winston averaged 18.6 points and 5.9 assists and he averaged 43.2% from three on the year.
