Cashless medical facility for 6.5 lakh Karnataka govt staff soon

BENGALURU: Karnataka chief minister BS Yediyurappa on Thursday said that over 6.5 lakh state government employees may soon get hassle-free cashless medical facilities and added that details of the scheme were being worked out.

After inaugurating the centenary building of the Karnataka State Government Employees' Association here, the chief minister said that an announcement in this regard will be made once the cashless facility plan is firmed up.

He said the government has issued an order against initiating any inquiry or action against state government employees based on anonymous petitions.

Committees to address woes of employees

With this decision, the government has fulfilled the long-pending demand of the state government employees. This will enable them to discharge their duties without any fear,” Yediyurappa said.

Last week, the CM said, the government issued an order granting six months of leave for women to take care of their newborn. This apart, taluk and district-level joint consultative committees have been set up to address woes of the employees.
