Cashflow? It’s basically the movement of funds in and out of your business and as such I consider it a key factor in running a sustainable business.
But that wasn’t the case when I first started out. It often happened that I was surprised by a lack of cash despite running a very profitable business, and in fact that nearly made me go bankrupt when I was unable to pay vendors.
After that I realised I had to do something. I looked for tools and I found a lot of online tools, and to some extent automated tools, but didn’t feel they suited me that well.
So, at the end of the day I ended up using a basic spreadsheet and collected all my future recurring payments into it along with the estimated sales for the month. It’s not high tech but it gives me a rough picture of how my cashflow is doing and if actions are needed.
