Cash security driver held at knife-point by armed gang

A cash security driver was held at knife-point during a terrifying robbery at a petrol station in Rochdale.

Police were called to Texaco on Halifax Road in Littleborough at around 1.40pm on Saturday.

It is understood the security guard were on the forecourt near the Spar shop when he was ambushed by three men.

The gang threatened him with a knife and demanded the cash cassette he was carrying.

He did, and the men escaped with the money box in a dark blue Volkswagon Golf.

The victim was unhurt, but left shaken.

GMP are now appealing for witnesses to come forward, and have released descriptions of the suspects.

One of the gang is described as white, aged between 25 to 35, short and of stocky build.

He was wearing a black North Face coat, a baseball cap, and he had a balding head.

The second man is described as white, around 6ft and aged 30-35.

There is no description of the third man.

No arrests have been made and enquiries are ongoing.

Anyone with information is asked to contact police on 101 quoting reference number 1069 of April 27 or the independent charity Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
