More research - and you get to see a lot in this job - suggests that cash flow is a huge headache for small business, and worse, that owner/managers don't understand the importance of it. Invoice discounting company Venture Finance says that in a survey only 22 per cent of companies thought it an important element of the business, when it can actually bring a company down.
