Cash and jewellery stolen from house in Nashik

NASHIK: Cash and jewellery worth Rs 1.45 lakh were stolen from a closed house from the Kathegalli, Dwarka area of Nashik city on Tuesday.

On a complaint, the Bhadrakali police have registered an FIR against an unidentified person for offences punishable under relevant sections of the IPC for house breaking.

The theft took place at around 3 am on Tuesday. The complainant stated in his complaint that some unidentified person entered his closed bungalow by breaking the latch and lock of the entrance door and stole cash of Rs 38 thousand and gold jewellery of Rs 1.07 lakh. Of late there have been many incidents of thefts and housebreakings that are being registered with different police stations.

The police since long have been appealing to the residents of residential colonies that security guards should be appointed in buildings or residential societies. If residents of single buildings cannot afford to appoint security guard, residents of two to three buildings should appoint a common security guard.
