Cash and "high-value" jewellery stolen from Airdrie house

A FOUR-FIGURE sum of cash and “several high-value” items of jewellery were stolen by heartless thieves during a break-in at an Airdrie house.

Detectives are appealing for the public’s help to trace the culprits who targeted the Calgary Place property between 6.30pm and 8.45pm last night.

The devastated householder returned home to discover the money and precious jewellery had been swiped.

Detective Sergeant Iain Sneddon from Coatbridge CID said: “I am appealing to anyone who was in the area around the time of the incident, and may have noticed anything suspicious, to please get in touch.

“I would also urge any motorists with dash-cams who were on nearby roads at the time to check their footage in case they have managed to capture anything which could be of significance.

“Anyone with information is asked to contact Police Scotland through 101, quoting incident number 3661 of March 1.

“Alternatively, you can call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111, if you wish to remain anonymous.”
