They say money doesn’t grow on trees, but a UK theme park is disproving this myth as a tree in Nottingham city centre is set to mysteriously sprout hundreds of pounds in cash.
The 'magical' tree will be appearing on Thursday, April 11 somewhere in the city centre, with money and exclusive golden tickets sprouting from its 'leaves' for passers-by to reach up and grab from the branches.
The giveaway is to mark the start of the new season at Drayton Manor Park in Tamworth.
Nottingham will be the first of a number of cities to treat theme park fans (and anyone who likes free cash) with the tree.
The golden tickets allow families free access to the theme park, stays at the four-star Drayton Manor Hotel and a chance to be a zoo keeper for the day.
“Anything is possible at Drayton Manor Park, so to celebrate the start of the new season we wanted to surprise and delight people across the nation by literally making money (and theme park tickets) grow on trees," said managing director William Bryan.
“Our cash tree is sure to plant a seed of excitement in Nottingham – and with hundreds of freebies springing up in trees and bushes across the country, we look forward to seeing that excitement travelling nationwide.”
Drayton Manor Park has over 100 rides and attractions, including Europe’s only Thomas Land.
The park opened last month and has special Easter activities from April 12 to 28.
