Casey Affleck reportedly withdraws as Oscars presenter

Casey Affleck is "Gone Baby Gone" from this year's Oscars.

The actor has reportedly withdrawn from presenting the Best Actress Award at the upcoming Oscars ceremony.

Deadline reports that Affleck informed the Academy he would not be appearing as a way to take the focus off of himself as Hollywood continues to publicly voice support for victims of sexual harassment and assault with the #MeToo movement and Time's Up initiative.

The "Manchester by the Sea" star was accused of sexual harassment by two women in 2010. Both filed suits against the actor, alleging that he verbally abused them, tried to pressure them into sex and in one case, climbed into bed without consent.

The claims were later settled outside of court for an undisclosed amount, and Affleck, 42, has denied all allegations, saying in 2016 that he was "hurt and upset" by the "unfortunate situation."

Affleck's gig as presenter is tradition at the Oscars; he won Best Actor for "Manchester" at last year's ceremony, a win that also awarded him the Best Actress presenter slot.

Meanwhile, the Best Actress winner each year presents the award for Best Actor.
