The Bristol University accommodation at 33 Colston Street will now be occupied by  NHS  workers and volunteers, with students being asked to offer their rooms as part of the scheme.

Meanwhile, fines have been imposed on people travelling to west Wales from Bristol and Weston-super-Mare.

Dyfed Powys Police pulled over some 1,300 drivers heading to Wales in a crackdown on coronavirus lockdown breakers.
