Casemiro names his Manchester United ambition

Casemiro insists that his focus at Manchester United is on taking each match as it comes, but he admits that he would like to win some silverware with the club in the long run.

The Brazilian midfielder won fifteen major trophies during his time at Real Madrid, including five Champions Leagues, three La Liga titles, one Copa del Rey and three FIFA Club World Cups.

He has already brought a huge wealth of experience and quality to the United side, making a real difference in regards to their overall performance levels on the pitch.

United haven't won a trophy in five and a-half years, and while that isn't the immediate focus for Casemiro, he acknowledges that it would be brilliant to finally end the drought.

“Well at the end of the day, when you go to a club you always want to pick up as many victories and trophies as you possibly can but I’m the kind of person who takes things match by match," he said in a recent Q&A.

"I think the key right now is to have a strong and solid team that can compete. Of course, you’re always aiming at winning trophies, but I believe that we have to think about each game as it comes, we’re on a good run and we’re growing and improving with each game that we play.

"So that’s how we should be thinking really, I’m not one for looking too far ahead. I prefer to enjoy the present. So I just focus on the next game and of course as a result in the end we all want to win silverware, but I’m the type of player who wants to keep on amassing win after win after win.”
