Case of cheating as patented machine of innovative farmer copied in Haryana's Ambala

YAMUNANAGAR: The police have registered a case of cheating allegedly for copying and manufacturing a machine patented by an innovative farmer, against a person of Ambala.

The case has been registered on the complaint of Dharamvir, an innovative farmer of Damla village of Yamunanagar district, against Rohit Dhall, a proprietor of a firm in Ambala Cantonment, under Section 420 (cheating), 406 (criminal breach of trust), 481 and 485 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) at Yamunanagar Sadar police station on August 31.

In the past, farmer Dharamvir invented a multipurpose food processing machine, for which he was awarded by the different institutes and also President of India.

Dharamvir alleged that he runs his company of manufacturing multipurpose food processing machines and other business from his Damla village.

"On March 21, 2022, Rohit Dhall of Ambala Cantonment contacted me to purchase my machine and later he purchased one. Dhall bought my machine with the wrong intention to prepare a duplicate and counterfeit it. By fabricating the counterfeit of my food processing machine, Rohit started selling the same under his company logo and trademark. My machine was patented under the Patent Act, 1970", alleged Dharamvir.

The case has been registered on the order passed by a district court at Jagadhri.
