Case Keenum set to return to U.S. Bank on Oct. 24

Case Keenum is a pretty popular guy in Minnesota, even though he spent just one season with the Vikings.

It helps that he led the Vikings to the NFC Championship in that season.

Keenum is now with the Redskins after being traded there this offseason. This comes after a forgettable season with the Broncos in which Denver went just 6-10. Keenum threw for 3,890 yards, 18 touchdowns and 15 interceptions.

Denver picked Joe Flacco (who the Broncos traded for) over Keenum just a year after signing him, which seems like a bad idea, but such is life with John Elway picking quarterbacks not named Peyton.

Keenum will compete with Colt McCoy for the starting job and as of now, is probably the favorite to get it.

The journeyman quarterback will most likely get a standing ovation on Oct. 24 when the Vikings host the Redskins on Thursday Night Football. It wasn’t Keenum’s choice to leave. The Vikings chose Kirk Cousins over Keenum. But that doesn’t mean Keenum’s lone season with the Vikings was any less special.
