Case Keenum reacts to being named Redskins starter

Case Keenum is officially the Washington Redskins’ starter under center to start the 2019 season, which means the Dwayne Haskins debut will have to wait.

Head coach Jay Gruden announced the move, then Keenum himself hit the podium to meet with the media.

Ryan Fowler of the team’s official website offered the following from the presser: “Case Keenum says he’s looking to ‘earn the right,’ as a leader of the Redskins. Mentions ‘there’s only 32 jobs like mine… I’m going to give everything I got.'”

But Keenum also had some of that veteran poise that helped win him the job in the first place, per ESPN’s John Keim: “It’s business as usual. We’ve got a big test coming up…my mindset doesn’t change.”
