Case dismissed against former DePaul employee accused of stealing laptops

A former DePaul University employee accused of stealing computer equipment from the school after she was laid off has had her cased dismissed.

Yingqian Winny Lucas, 41, was facing a felony burglary charge in the 2018 incident, according to a statement from Chicago police.

Judge Rosa M. Silva dismissed the case on Oct. 23, according to Cook County court records.

Lucas had been accused of using her ID card to enter DePaul’s campus sometime between June and July 2018 and taking several laptops home, police said in a statement at the time.
