Casa Italia's revamp could finally put an end to its big queues

One of Liverpool’s most-loved restaurants has officially expanded its venue after 43 years in business.

Casa Italia on Stanley Street announced the news that its newly extended seating area is now open for business via Instagram last night.

The post read: “We’re extremely pleased to announce our extension is now OPEN! Please be sure to tag us in your pictures and let us know your thoughts.”

The new expansion has seen the popular restaurant , which regularly has queues lining the street outside, take over space in the building next door to create more seating.

Casa Italia announced it would be attempting to expand earlier this year, asking its loyal customers to become part of the restaurant’s history by pledging support for the “intimate little space” via Kickstarter.

The new area, which was once part of the Eleanor Rigby Hotel, seats around 40 people - and it is already festively decorated.

Fans of the family-run restaurant are already loving the news, sharing their excitement in the comments.

One person said: “No more queues”, while another said: “All the more room for extra garlic bread”.

Another added: “At last whoop whoop best place in the town. Congrats to u can’t wait to see it.”

Casa Italia is open from 12pm - 10pm Monday to Saturday, and 12pm - 8pm on Sundays.
