CarX Technologies has released their CarX Street Showdown update today introducing Pursuit Mode, a new team based PvP experience that puts players on opposite sides of high speed chases. The mode centers on Street Racers and Police facing off in matches that blend speed, strategy and quick decision making with each side fighting to prove they can come out on top.
Matches are split into two teams of eight with roles assigned randomly at the start and gameplay unfolding across two rounds. One team takes on the role of the racers, pushing powerful sports cars to the limit while using tools like EMP bursts to slow down their pursuers and stay ahead. The opposing team steps in as the police, relying on reinforced service vehicles, spike strips and coordinated takedowns to shut the racers down.
Racers earn points by reaching specific areas on the map and successfully delivering them to a garage, while police players focus on stopping progress by neutralizing as many opponents as possible. Once the first round wraps up, teams switch roles so everyone gets a chance to experience both sides of the chase. While the two factions may share the same roads, they play very differently with unique abilities and mechanics designed to give each role its own identity.
CarX Street is available on Steam, Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5.
