Carson Wentz won’t play in Eagles preseason opener; Nate Sudfeld to start vs. Titans

The Philadelphia Eagles are Nate Sudfeld’s team, at least for one night, as Carson Wentz will sit out the Birds preseason opener vs. the Titans at Lincoln Financial Field.

Sudfeld has been a player to watch all summer as he steps up into the No. 2 quarterback role. Sudfeld needs to avoid the inconsistent play against the Titans and use the momentum of the last few days of practice to cement his status and pay off the Eagles confidence in his role as Carson Wentz’s backup this season.
