Carson Wentz was highest graded QB in NFC East despite frustrating 2018 season

Critics and pundits alike can say what they want about Carson Wentz’ 2018 NFL season, but according to Pro Football Focus, just imagine if he was healthy? Despite having what some consider a controversial and frustrating 2018 season that ended With Nick Foles again leading the Eagles playoff drive, Wentz was still the divisions highest graded passer per Pro Football Focus.

It makes sense and allows those in the know, to fully justify why the Eagles remain steadfast that Wentz is the franchise quarterback and it isn’t even a close debate. Wentz graded out high, and above his fellow NFC East counterparts like Dak Prescott, Alex Smith and Eli Manning. Wentz came in at a high 79.4, while Prescott fell short with a grade of 74.6. Wentz was the best quarterback in the NFL in 2017, and if not for his torn ACL, wins his first MVP award. Even with the addition of Amari Cooper adding to his numbers, Prescott’s play justifies the concerns with giving him a huge deal.

For the Eagles, they were efficient at quarterback regardless of who was under center, as Nick Foles, the Eagles backup quarterback is ranked higher than both, Alex Smith and Eli Manning. Foles will be a high-priority free agent in a few weeks and could replace both Manning and Smith in their respective lineups.
