Carson Wentz was a calming influence during tumultuous week & players-only meeting

Carson Wentz has to deal with critics and pundits questioning his leadership on a daily basis, yet according to Tim McManus of ESPN.com,, the Eagles star quarterback was the calming influence the team needed during their week from hell.

According to McManus, about 12 players on the Eagles leadership committee gave Doug Pederson the heads up about a players-only team meeting. Malcolm Jenkins delivered some of the loudest and most resonating messages to the team, but per the Eagles star safety himself, it was Wentz who’s cool demeanor and quiet confidence, kept the team afloat.

“Just try and keep everyone together,” Wentz said of his approach this week. “It’s easy when losses come to want to point fingers and guys just trying to make sure everyone’s on the same page going forward with everything going on. Guys did a really good job responding.

The Eagles responded on Sunday afternoon and after the ball game, it was Wentz who addressed the team and broke them down after a huge season-saving road win.
