Carson Wentz unveiled his new Colts number with the help of a young Eagles superfan

It’s been nearly a month since the Philadelphia Eagles traded quarterback Carson Wentz to the Indianapolis Colts, and it now appears that Wentz has finally settled on a new number.

He had an awesome way of unveiling it too.

When the trade was made official, Wentz quickly realized that his preferred No. 11 jersey was taken by wide receiver Michael Pittman. Wentz called Pittman to inquire about getting that jersey number from him, and in a somewhat surprising move, Pittman denied the number swap with the guy who would be throwing him the ball.

Eagles superfan Giovanni Hamilton was available to show off the new number, though.

In a tweet on Wednesday, Giovanni shared a couple photos of himself rocking Wentz’s No. 2 Colts jersey.

Wentz and the Colts sent Giovanni the jersey for him to unveil the new number, which was a super cool way of making that announcement.

Wentz may be gone from Philadelphia, but it’s nice to see him maintain that connection with the Eagles fans who supported him.
