Carson Wentz set to return to full practice, report says

A report from ESPN's Chris Mortensen on Saturday indicates that the knee evaluation Carson Wentz spoke of this week went well and that as expected, Wentz will practice 11-on-11 when the Eagles take the field Sunday at NovaCare.

This does not mean that Wentz is cleared for contact or will start the season opener, Sept. 6 against the Falcons. But it is a step in that direction. Wentz addressed his progress last week in a news conference, saying he wants to get back to practice and show Doug Pederson that "I look comfortable; I look confident. And I know I will. ... The reps I have gotten, in (seven-on-seven) and everything, I feel confident in both my knee and this scheme and offense. ... Hopefully, I can just jump right back into where I left off."

The team has been off ever since their 37-20 loss to the New England Patriots in Foxborough on Thursday, when Nick Foles suffered an injury to his passing shoulder. Although Foles is optimistic that his shoulder injury is not serious, Saturday's announcement stating that Wentz can return for full team practices is a bit of positive news for the Super Bowl LII champs.
