Carson Wentz says Dallas Goedert has taken his game to another level

Dallas Goedert has arrived and it’s not often that a backup tight end on a championship-caliber team, gets this much preseason hype and attention. Goedert isn’t your regular number two tight end, in fact, he’s listed as a co-starter in some respects and is line for a huge second season in the NFL.

Eagles star quarterback Carson Wentz, was a guest on the 94WIP morning show with Angelo Cataldi, where he was asked about Goederts ascention in the Birds offense. For Wentz, there’s no tight end controversy, just another skilled weapon, who as he described to Cataldi, has taken his game to another level.

“I’ve really enjoyed building that chemistry with Dallas, on and off the field,” Wentz said. “We are obviously both Dakota kids, who share similar interest and values.”

“On the field, its been a pleasure to watch his development. As a rookie, he did some really good things early on, and this season he’s taken his game to another level and that’s exciting.”

Goedert will get a lot of utilization in the Eagles 12 personnel after a rookie season that saw him catch 15 balls in his last six games, finishing the year with 33 receptions for 334 yards and four touchdowns. Those are outstanding numbers considering Zach Ertz set the NFL tight end record with 116 receptions.
