Carson Wentz provides an update on his health; status for OTAs

Carson Wentz returned to face the Philadelphia media for the first time since the Eagles season was ended in heartbreaking style by the New Orleans Saints. Wentz and the Eagles returned to the Nova Care Complex for the start of offseason workouts, and after a morning of getting reacquainted, Wentz faced the media along with Zach Ertz and Jason Kelce.

Wentz said all the right things while answering questions, and provided an update on his health as the team works towards on-field activities with OTAs. Wentz said Monday that he is “feeling good” and “taking it week-by-week,” as he recovers from a broken bone in his back that kept him sidelined for the final three regular-season games in 2018 and the playoffs.

“That’s the goal,” Wentz said when asked if he would be ready for next month’s OTAs. “There’s really no timetable, no rush, but I feel good with the progression right now.”

Wentz confirmed that he is running and throwing, as the team begins the Phase 1, conditioning portion first. Wentz on to say that he’ll leave the contract stuff to his agent, he’s not trying to change his leadership style and Monday felt like the first day of school.
