Carson Wentz made it to the final of a surprisingly intense game of knockout at Colts OTAs

Carson Wentz was at Colts OTAs on Monday to get work in with his new teammates following the March trade from the Philadelphia Eagles. And I must say that there’s no better way to endear yourself to a new group of teammates than putting forth an admirable showing in a game of knockout.

Like, it’s a fact. Knockout is just that fun of a game.

The Colts ended their OTA session by holding a big game of knockout on the practice field with a portable hoop, and the final round came down to Wentz and tight end Mo Alie-Cox who was a three-year starter on VCU’s basketball team.

And you know what — that final round was actually intense.

Alie-Cox and Wentz went back and forth for nearly 10 turns before the Colts tight end won the game with a jumper.

Outside of a missed layup, Wentz had a solid effort. And for a player who didn’t attempt a single 3 in his college career, Alie-Cox’s shot was pretty nice.

It’s just more proof that the NFL needs to add knockout to the Pro Bowl skills challenge. It’s easily the best recess game out there.
