For the first time since becoming the No. 2 overall pick in the 2016 NFL Draft, Carson Wentz looked lost as the quarterback of the Philadelphia Eagles during a bizarre outing against the Seattle Seahawks.
Wentz had four turnovers on the day and the Eagles offensive struggles continued as Philadelphia fell to 5-6 on the season after falling to the Seattle Seahawks 17-9.
The Eagles defense played well once again and did its part, holding their last 4 opponents to 17 points or less. Philadelphia got after Russell Wilson all afternoon, as the MVP candidate was 13-25, for 200 yards, one touchdown, and one interception.
Wentz played badly on Sunday, but he entered the game with most of his offensive weapons on the sidelines. The Eagles were shorthanded as right tackle Lane Johnson (concussion), running back Jordan Howard (shoulder) and wide receivers Alshon Jeffery (ankle) and Nelson Agholor (knee) were all inactive on Sunday.
Right guard Brandon Brooks (illness) left the game in the first quarter and was replaced by Halapoulivaati Vaitai.
Wentz finished the first half 10 for 16 for 62 yards and was 33 of 45, for 256 yards, one touchdown, and two interceptions. As a whole, the Eagles had five turnovers and looked out of sorts from the start.
The Birds will need to regroup as a trap-game against the Dolphins in Miami awaits next Sunday.
