Carson Wentz believes Eagles rookie WR’s are talented enough to hit the ground running

Carson Wentz set career highs in passing yards during the 2019 season and after carrying the Eagles to the playoffs, the franchise star is looking for more explosion on offense after adding three rookies.

Wentz was excited about the draft picks and after having the opportunity to work with the young receivers at the team’s training facility, Wentz believes Jalen Reagor, John Hightower, and Quez Watkins can hit the ground running as rookies.

“My first impressions are all three of them, they can roll. They’re quick. They’re fast, natural ball catchers, so I’m excited for all those guys,” Wentz said to Dave Spadaro. “They all have a great chance to help this team right away this year, even in Week 1 and so, not to put too much pressure on those guys, but I’m excited to see how they develop here over the next couple of weeks.”

Wentz will look to continue to dominating play in the red zone and third downs, where over the past three seasons, the Eagles star ranks second in the NFL in QB rating in both areas.

To help Wentz adjust to the new schemes and innovation, the Eagles added Rich Scangarello to the coaching staff as a senior offensive assistant and added passing game coordinator to the title of quarterback coach Press Taylor.
