A teenager has been arrested on suspicion of supplying a Class A drug to a 13-year-old boy who died in South Wales.

Carson Price died after being found unconscious in a park in Ystrad Mynach, near Caerphilly, last Friday.

Police arrested a 14-year-old on Thursday morning following a raid at an address in the village of Pontllanfraith near Blackwood.

The boy remains in custody, where he is being questioned in the presence of an adult, Gwent Police said.

Detectives believe Carson had been sold llegal drugs in the hours before his death and have pursued possible connections to a form of MDMA, known as Donkey Kong pills.

“I’d like to thank all members of the community for their continued support during this tragic time,” Caerphilly superintendent, Nick McLain said.

“The information received from the public has been a vital part of the investigation. I would like to emphasise no one has been charged with any offences and the investigation is still continuing.”

Carson, of Hengoed, was found unconscious by emergency services personnel in Ystrad Mynach Park around a mile from his home on Friday evening.

He was taken to the University Hospital of Wales in Cardiff for treatment but later died.

In a statement released through police on Monday, the teenager’s family paid described him as “bright and caring, kind and loving”.

“He was a cheeky little boy,” the statement added. “He was the best big brother and was loved and will be missed by so many.”
