White is the most popular colour for Thai car buyers, accounting for 36% of all sales according to used-car platform Carsome.
Carsome, the region's largest integrated e-commerce platform, said that other popular colours in Thailand include grey, silver and red.
Meanwhile, sedans are the most popular body style, followed by hatchbacks, SUVs, pickup trucks then MPVs. Top sedan models in Thailand include the Honda City and Civic, Mazda2 and Toyota Yaris.
In a press release, the company stated that brighter colours like white are easier to spot in the dark and are associated with a greater sense of safety. White is also a heat and light reflector, so it tends to be cooler under direct sunlight.
"For all the reasons mentioned above, white also tends to have a better chance of holding its value when reselling," the release stated, adding that's in line with Carsome data showing white as the most common colour of all resold cars.
